Skype has launched its application for Symbian mobiles. For iPhones and windows mobiles, it had already developed. This application now enables the Symbian 60 series users to connect their skype friends through their cell phones.
Skype for Symbian S60 has
same features as a desktop version of Skype. You can make a call from
Skype-to-Skype using your default internet connection of mobile or WiFi.
You have to sign in using your Skype id and password. Your all contacts
will import and you can see them on main window. There is also an
option to add them to your contact list. You can also make a call from
skype to mobile using your skype credit. But it will become costly from
your cell phone.
Skype for Symbian also enables you to
invite friends, make a group conversation. This version also has the
feature of copy and paste. Moreover, you can also add the emoticons in
your messages.
The call quality of skype is very
excellent but it also depends on your mobile internet connection. Skype
also keeps the record of your all conversation, messages and etc in the
history. You can check all record with the help of a single click.
A drawback of this application for
symbian is that there is no capability of video conferencing. This is
also unable to make categories of your contacts. Overall, anyhow, this
is a fantastic application for symbian mobile users. (Review by pcfavour)
