PeaZip is
a free open source compression and decompression file manager. This is
available for Microsoft Windows, BSD and GNU/Linux. This software helps
you to reduce the large files.
You can compress or decompress a file
using the menu bar of the software or by right clicking on the file or
folder. PeaZip supports more than 150 formats. There are many features
of this software such as convert compress, encrypt, split, secure
delete, open RAR, TAR, 7Z, ZIP, ZIPX files.
PeaZip supports all windows OS e.g.
Windows 9x, NT, 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8 with both 32 and 64 bit. The
program has a file explore within, which you can use to select the drive
and directory for compression or to extract. The speed of compression
and decompression is very fast and smooth. The icons of compressed files
are quite different from WinRAR icons. There is an attractive icon for
the files which are located on desktop.
The program has the ability to split or
join the files, byte-to-byte file comparison, view checksum files and
find duplicate files. This also has the feature of viewing thumbnail of
images. Overall, it has an easy to use graphic user interface integrated
with drag and drop context menu.
PeaZip enables you to protect, share and
backup your files and save your time. It is also available in portable
package for all platforms. All these features and functions of this
program make it impressive and attractive for users.
A big drawback of PeaZip is that it
takes a lot of time to open a compressed file directly than WinRAR but
if we do comparison with its feature then this issue can be neglected. (Review by pcfavour)
